I suppose the good news behind all these stories of folks like Lucian Freud and Odd Nerdrum getting huge prices and big publicity for their work is at least they are representational, figurative painters. I'd be depressed if the big name/big price tag living artists were getting all that acclaim for doing drip paintings or patterns of squares.
