This 8x10 pencil portrait of a woman in a pearl necklace was commissioned by a male friend from the woman's photo, a selfie. I reduced the shadows compared to the original photo and turned her upright. She was originally at a angle across the page. I used a Blackwing pencil which is 4B on Canson pure-white paper.
