Gouache & colored pencil

This piece is in gouache and prisma pencil on Stonehenge toned paper. It is 21" x 28". For those familar with Atlanta, Stone Mountain is in the distance. The reference photo was taken there. It is a favorite family vacation spot. Any ideas for changes before I sign it? I tried to do the best I could with the reference photos I had. I had to put four or five together.

Thanks!

Here is a close-up of the girls. I can also post a close-up of the geese if anyone wants to see it.

This is totally beautiful, Rebecca. If I had to nitpick one thing it would be the end of the rock the girls are leaning on. The sharp contrast of light to dark value seems a little out of place. I think I recognize the older girl from a previous post. You must have her likeness subjected to memory by now. Very beautiful painting.

Lon,

Thank you. I take that as a great compliment coming from you. Stone Mountain is a great place to visit, take pictures or just hike around the lake. I recommend a visit if you are in the Atlanta area.

Mike,

The darker area of that rock is some type of dark, dark green algae or slimy moss. I do think I need to tone the value down some.

The older girl (Raylea) is in a previous post and the younger one (Kaylon) is as well. They are both my children. I am very hesitant about posting other people's kids without their consent and I don't have anything like that in my current contract that the parents sign. But I will start because this forum is a great place to bounce around ideas and solve problems.

Thanks, Stroke of Genius!

Rebecca
