A new exercise in oils

I was struggling along drawing my granddaughter for her first birthday and all I wanted to do was paint, so I decided to give myself only two hours to complete a painting of Asia on her first birthday! Here it is. I know there is allot wrong with it, but it was fun to do....the girl with a million expressions...Birthday Girl!

Patty, the thing that stands out for me is the extremely fine value transitions in her face. I also like the way you used brushstrokes economically, as in her hair and sweater. This must have been fun to paint.

Thank you Alex, it was in fact, a painting of yours I saw of FB that you completed in an hour that spurred me to give this a try! I'll do this exercise more in the future.
Have a great day
