Figure in Stage Light
This is a new one that is going to be up at the Bankhead Theater in California for a group show in April/May 2009.
It is oil on canvas, 24" x 36". A larger image can be seen here .

Yet another exquisite and elocuent piece of yours, Thomasin!
Background has this ehtereal quality to it which contrasts nicely with the tangibility of the head.
Very fine work! Good luck with the group show.

Beautifully done, as ever. Hope the show's an outstanding success (perhaps it's over now?)

Thanks very much, Margaret. Yes, the show is over now. It wasn't a huge success but it was nice to get my work up in a theatre for a little while.

Yes, at least you are getting your work out there. And in many more places as well! I hear so many good things about you these days!
I must have missed this-not sure why, except that I've taken several trips this summer and the internet access is not always reliable. I like the ambiguity of this figure, somewhat different than in your other work. Sometimes I look at it and see a middle-aged matron, hesitant and unsure, stepping into the light, or into an unfamiliar territory. At other times I see a young woman, someone who is eloquent with words but is unused to expressing herself with physical gestures or moving her body eloquently. As always your art is emotionally powerful.
