Anna at 14

All the plein air painting is helping with my studio work. this was fun and fast. She sat for me for several sittings but I ended up working from the dress hanging from a wire and hanger and filled the skirt out with a chair.

24 x 36 oil

Thank you for looking

Beautiful, beautiful, incandescent skin-tones.

Vianna,

One of the best investments I ever made was to get a dummie. My husband laiughed both times when I got one, but they have more than paid for themselves.

Here is a link to one that is cheaper and better than the Bendie I got.

Thank you Sharon,

The painting has much richer tones than the photograph but my camera insists on overexposing the lights.

Thanks a lot for the mannequin site. That could be a huge help, especially the child dummies although the "vampire couple" could be interesting.

I use my Nikon manual film camers for that I have a 55mm micro lens, with Kodak Portra film that works great.

Cheaper kids dummies.

I love her stance and the soft airy feeling you have portrayed.

Sharon,
I have not touched my manual Minolta in years but this may be the time to dust it off.
Thank you again for the kind words and for the mannequin info. They could be very useful.

Thank you Enzie for your comments.

Pentax optio version of Anna at 14

I am reposting the photo of the portrait. I shot this one with my Pentax and feel it is a very close representation of the painting.

Thanks Sharon,

My point and shoot Pentax does a great job of recording color but it is at a disadvantage when I am photographing toddlers.
