Hello everyone,

A small, quick figure study I just finished. Oil on linen, 60cm x 73cm. I hope it views well on your monitors.

Thanks for looking.

Hello Carlos,

This is another lovely one of yours (as is to be expected). A great composition, with beautiful handling of light and forms (I love the couch - it almost has a Stanley Spencerish feel to it). Great perspective. Please could you post a close-up of the face and also the lamp at the far end (with its reflected light on the wall). Both these details look so lovely and sensitive. Oh, and the table on which the lamp is sitting. That tablecloth looks yummy.

Wonderful, Carlos!

The first thing that struck me about this is the two light sources, natural and artificial, that model the young woman from either side. The cool light from the left really makes the warm colors come alive, and yet it is the warm colors that are so appealing. The glowing lamp at the far end of the couch draws th eye, but I don't think it distracts th eye from the subject. This painting is trickier than it seems at first glance. Sometimes I feel as though these fortunate compositions come about when we see a certain view countless times, examining it carefully, becoming familiar with it, and then succumbing to the desire to paint it. By then we know it thoroughly.

Carlos -

Seeing your "quick study" makes me want to go hang up my paint brush!

This is so lovely. I love the brush strokes, the lighting, the composition.

You make it look so easy....

My "quick" meant 3 sessions. One for the underpainting and the other 2 for the rest. It

Carlos,

Beautiful use of pinks and reds. It is a lovely atmospheric work and a finished work of art as it is.

Lovely
