Mother and child in the Saatchi showdown competition

Just a small thing - I have my "Mother with Child" painting up on the Saatchi Gallery website for the first showdown competition. It's a public vote for the winners, so if you feel like voting you're more than welcome (so far I have a sad 4.4 out of 10 ). Here's the link:

http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/sho...p?showpic=1050

p.s. The Saatchi gallery offers free web pages for artists, although with the thousands of artists already there it's a bit impossible to found amongst them all unless you're looking for a particular name.

I see your rating has gone up since you last checked...
Wish you the best...I personally find that piece of yours has a very strong impact both pictorically and in its expression.

Suerte!

Thank-you, Carlos, for your compliment. I do appreciate it.

I am very much looking forward to seeing the next painting you post on the forum.

Thanks, Alex, for your vote (undeservedly high, of course). Much appreciated.

Thanks Chris for trying to vote. I had a bit of trouble getting into the site too. but it seems to be back online now. The contest runs 'til Sunday 6pm UK time. Thanks very much for your cheery enthusiasm!!

Thomasin,

Your painting deserves an easy 10, which I just added. Wonderful painting! I like the implied movement of the child, in the second echoing profile. I also love your expressive abstraction of color and value.

If you ask me, you have the best painting of all I was able to view. I hope you attain the attention you deserve in the poll.

Garth

Thanks so much, Garth and Linda. It's so good of you to support me. I thought I might be suspended from the SOG forum for asking people to vote (it's a bit below par, isn't it), but with the original 4.4 rating I was desperate to do something Anyway, with things like this I am sure it's more do do with how many friends and family members you have rather than artistic merit. I am sure all the competition vote 10 for themselves and 1 for everyone else.

I will reciprocate in kind for all of you when the opportunity arises.
