Marketing as a favor. Expense write-off.

I know all these multi million dollar companies need to spend money to write off. Has anyone ever approced a person or company with this idea? I would love to do this to some of the local doctors, hospitals, oil companies etc. Any information on exact laws or tax forms etc. that could be presented that would perfectly fit the occasion? Possibly something that would fit in with construction or decorations of the office. Also it could fit into some kind of client gift or entertainment expense.

The companies will spend the money anyway on something. Why not on something that is beautiful and will last a long time.

Bring on the discussion.

I've never heard of someone commissioning a portrait because they wanted a tax write off. Usually it's because they really just want the portrait.
