Rachel

One of my students, Rachel has the kind of face that I could draw and paint for years to come. A timeless beauty. I like the way the head is rendered, though I have some issues with how far I went in rendering the blouse, necklace, etc. Always an issue with me! And, as always (happily): back to the drawing board!

Charcoal/white pastel, toned paper. Approx. 17" x 22."

David - that is exquisite. Luminous and soft, just beautiful. I agree, she is a classic beauty.

Another beautiful drawing, David. she has such a beautiful expression.

Strangely enough, I fell in love with that earring shadow!

Cindy, thanks! Yes, I'm really taken with her face and this expression in particular. I'm probably going to do an oil study of this same image. We'll see...
Julie, thanks so much. Yeah that earring shadow was a nice little happenstance that also helps define the form of the jawline - which otherwise might read a bit flat.

David -- This is just gorgeous! So sensitively done. . . would love to see it in oils too.
