Marcus Lim in Asian Geographic
Dear friends,
i've been honored an opportunity to complement my artwork with an article featuring a group of women labour workers who helped to build Singapore's early buildings.
I'm very happy with this opportunity, because i finally got to see light for my mission as an artist, and that is to honor the various segments of our nation's past that made into the Singapore today.
For a view of the cover art, click on http://www.asiangeo.com
Thanks for cheering me on all this time!

Congratulations!
"Singapore, lions roar", is the phrase inspired me to paint a mosque in Singapore, where my grandfather set his feet for revolutionary activities.

Thanks Alex and Lacey, i'm glad i shared this with friends like you here, 'cos it was this Forum who nurtured my mind, and helped me grow to become who i am today. I hope my achievements here in Asian Geographic will help fellow artists to aspire for themselves.
But this i cannot do it alone without your help, to continue to help others here to become better artists. I continue to believe, the Forum is the place to help art minds grow.
Schubert! i didn't know you have someone in the family tree who's a revolutionary! Just so happens i'm working on Singapore history myself. Would you be able to share your background with me on email then? I'd love to hear more from you!

Marcus:
I'll email you what you needed.
I suffered a lot in China!... I envy those who come from ordinary families and some other countries.
Just a little story: In his later life, Mao won everyone in his territory, probably includes Nixon. Even in his early time, there were only few who challenged him, two of which are my granduncle, who dismissed his position, and my grandpa, who dispelled him from a meeting, then Mao was angry toward my grandpa, saying: one day I'll skin you...

What a story Schubert...it does leave a "bad aftertaste' in the family history for you and maybe your children...but i do hope time will wash away that sentiment.
