Her mother
My daughter just turned 14 last month and I painted this as a gift to her. I have her permission to post this. Her mother lent her the necklace and earrings. They used to belong in turn to HER grandmother. My daughter is very excited about it, (the portrait, not the necklace)and unlike her cell phone, at least she can brag about something in school that, in all probability, her classmates don

This is lovely. I can see why your daughter is so proud.

Very beautiful Carlos !
You are proud too I can tell and you should be. This is such a fresh, direct and aware portrait.
Did you do it from life?

Lovely. This looks like what I imagine a "Spanish" portrait should be.

Very lovely, Carlos. Of course she is thirlled - and should be! Fourteen is a wonderful age for capturing these girls - you can see both child and woman at the same time.

Gracias, Senor Carlos.
Oh, my. Capturing one's child like you did is such an incredible gift. A photo is a ... photo. Flat and dead. A painting has enery from the artist AND model that seems to eminate forever. Well, it seems so to me. Great job, Carlos! Timeless and very classic. Thank you for sharing it with us, Sr. Carlos Ygoa, Maestro.

Carlos,
This is truly lovely and timeless. There is a lot of Velasquez inspiring and permiating the quality of your paint (that is good!). I am in awe.

Carlos, what an engaging portrait.
A formal perfection paired with psychological introspection and a pair of incredibly expressive eyes.
Many many compliments
