This is a sample I painted a couple of years ago for a local gallery which I also use for display at charity auctions. I am interested in painting casual poses in outdoor settings, and I also try to specialize in multi-figure portraits of children, which is why I chose this composition as a sample.

On Friday, I went to an auction where it was on display and was really embarrassed by its quality. Luckily a client who was one of the organizers, also brought her more recent portrait in.

I spent the weekend working on this painting but I'm not sure I improved it much. The first image is the original version and the second is the revision.

Thanks for any tips you might have!

I'm sorry, I made a mistake. The first image is the revision, the second is the older version!
