This is something a little different for me. I'm doing this as a sample for an Auction. I'm donating my portrait services for. The school is an Upper Eastside all girls school, where my wife works as the K-4th grade Art Teacher (she has the best job, her room has 3 windows facing central park.) We are going to have the portrait on view in her class room a week before the auction, so the kids can bug their parents and drive up the bidding price. uh and maybe get some comissions. heheheh sneaky.

This is an in progress shot that I had to take cause I just got a new digital camera. When it's done I'll post the finished.

David. this is fabulous! It should generate a lot of attention for you. It's another very sensitive and compelling portrait of yours that makes me return again and again for another look. You know I'm going to be peppering you with questions about how you did this. I have yet to discern where it need more finishing. When is the auction?

(in awe),
Garth

David,

This is unfinished? Wow. Your colors work so well together, like your other portrait which put you in the finals at PSOA - isn't that this week?? Is this burnt sienna I keep seeing in your paintings? Please don't think I'm being rude to ask here - even if I am.

I am also in awe - her expression is so much like a 2nd grader wondering "just what is that man looking at anyway??" And the hands......WOW!

Denise

Thanks everyone. I'm getting excited about the PSOA show. I just got the painting back from the photographer and I'll try to post a new image of the finished and few details. I worked a lot more on the hands, they were so much fun to do, baby chub fingers have so much color.

Whoa.

You know, I need a lot of convincing (or a very big martini) to get me to think this is unfinished. Your stuff just blows me out of the water, Dave.

You deserve some serious commissions, sneaky or no. Best of luck at the auction!
