Close the doors on the studio
One of the neatest studio setups and a great idea for those who are not full time professional artists, is a studio of a friend that keeps all of her equipment in a huge closet. It's for her watercolors setup. She does mostly watercolors and she does mostly small 8x10" so she really doesn't need much more than table, shelves, lights, all supplies and a comfortable chair.
They took a huge wall from a den area and enclosed it like a big closet with folding doors etc. (Part of it is for computer equipment) And she can close everything up if she is having a party or having guests and doesn't want the studio look to her den. (She has a desk, some chairs, rugs, tv and sofa in there and it looks like an office otherwise). It was very interesting and lovely.
Many of you may have already known about this, but her's was the first that I had seen.
