Jean, I like this one best, because she is so relaxed.
I think there is a lot of stuff that is moving the eye all over the place though. Is the tower significant to anything? I think all the colors are really dominant and some areas would be better toned down. Maybe a little more focus on that lovely face!

Jean, I love this lady so much I couldn't help myself. I don't know if this gets across what I was trying to say.
After looking at Carrie Ballantyne's reference photos, wow - we all need help here!

Simplification
All of your comments to this and prior posts are so clear, caring and informative.
Beth, this will be my pick also. I see you made definite improvements to appear as though Ariane has been lit as suggested in previous post, simplified background, and even changed the color of the scarf to green!
I might still introduce a hint of the Eiffel as Ms. Beigneux is of French origin.
Inspiration is strong, the subject divine and I plan to begin this portrait two weeks from now with a promise to post progress.
Thank you! Thank you!
I LOVE this forum!

How about just putting a pin on her sweater, I would leave the "prop" out of the background!
I can't wait to see it!

Nancy Stember's Portrait of Ariane Beigneux
CSOPA Co-Chair, Nancy Stember, unveiled this loving portrait at our June 9 Meet 'n Critique. We found little to critique!
Additional paintings may follow, as this subject continues to inspire us all.
