Biaaja, the Dutch dog! :-)

Hello, all!

Okay, I had to post this colored pencil of my husband's childhood doggie...she is a lab. I love the eyes! What do you think?

Hi Jennifer!

She is a cutie! I have four labs myself. One chocolate, one black and two yellows. I also work mostly in colored pencil. What size is this piece? What surface did you use? Which brand of pencils? Have you seen Ann Kullberg's website and emagazine?

I sound like my five year old with all of the questions.

Rebecca

Hi, Rebecca!

Thanks for the compliment! I use mostly Prismacolor pencils, I find these to be THE BEST and have the richest color. My surface was just some really good illustration board. I love illustration board, since it is so smooth, and the pencil just glides over it! This piece is about 16" x 16" or so. :)

I love labs too, and hopefully we will be getting one SOON! The one above lives in Paris, so I have seen Anne's work, and she is amazing!

Hope this helps!
Jen

Hi Jennifer

You did a nice job on the eyes and another example of a square that works. Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Tammy!

I love this picture, too...and it shows her personality, through her eyes. That is key! I am posting a watercolor of a horse next. Let me know what you think! :)
