John Howard Sanden's studio
Since I designed the web site for John Howard Sanden, I had photos of his current and past studio in my files. With his permission, I'm posting some images below.
This first shot is the exterior of his current studio attached to his home in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

I showed these to my husband and said, "I want this!"
He seems to think that Mr. Sanden makes more money at this portrait thang than I do. I wonder why.
Absolutely beautiful!

Cynthia,
What color did Mr. Sanden paint the walls in his studio? In the pictures it looks like it could be a shade of brown, but I really can't tell.
Thanks

I queried Mr. Sanden regarding the wall color. Here is his response:
A fairly dark brown. Purely a decorating concept -- this has nothing to do with painting.

Thanks, Cynthia.
I remember reading that Bouguereau had his studio painted a 30% gray. Also someone else, I can't remember who, maybe Sargent, also painted his studio a dark brown.
