Thanks a lot Heidi!
I really appreciate your comments about my work.

Trust me, you dont want to see what i can do with pen and ink. My place is between the pencils and oils...

Your sculptures are really impressive... I never tryed sculping before. But im sure i will give it a try at the next semester at my university.

By the way, somebdoy coul please tell me what is the difference between "new member", "juried member" and "approved member"? I tryed to find someplace on the forum the explanation for that but was not able to find...

Thanx again everybody!

Alex

Hello Alex

Welcome to the forum. Your drawing is very nice. It struck me immediately as having a strong sense of life and form in space. Well done!

Re. your question about membership: All new members are juried members, which means they have had their work reviewed and its quality approved of and, like you, have been invited to join the forum. Apparantly, though, artists are listed at the bottom of the main forum page as "new member" whilst they are in the jurying process, before they have been approved, but they are, in fact not yet true members.

Thomasin

Thanx for the compliments, Dave and Thomasin, i really appreciate that.

Thomasin, thanks for your answers about the membership status. Your work is amazing, almost ethereal... looks like a beautiful textured pastels at first glance... very loose and natural, im aiming to achieve that.

David, Im sure my English will get better as soon as I keep posting in a regular basis, anyway, thanx! Where can i see some samples of your work?

See you guys around the Forum

Is she Brazilian? This surname is typically Brazilian.
Andrade is her husband's name, and I am not sure where he was from, but it might have been Brazil. Her maiden name is Wright but she gained a reputation as an artist using "Andrade." Thanks for saying such nice things about my drapery, Alex--I never thought much of it myself so I'm glad someone does!

Alex: Andrade is either Brazilian or Portuguese, very common surnames here.

Marina: Your work is trully impressive! Thanx for the welcome!

Thanks a lot for your reply Ms. Saper.

I bought your book "Painting Beautiful Skin Tones with Color & Light" last year, as a matter of fact, it was a gift from my wife, but i was "allowed" to choose which book she would buy. I choose yours.

Thanks for doing such a great book on the subject, it was tremendously helpful.

Its great to read your tips and suggestions on the forum, I'm honored to be accept on this community so crowded with talented people.

Thanks again!
Alex
