Welcome from one Alex to another! I'm admiring your lines, the way they curve so elegantly, following the form. It's a very expressive drawing, beautifully executed with a mixture of precision and emotion.

Julie Deane 01-27-2007 10:51 PM

Welcome Alex! Very nice drawing.

Alex Sunder 01-27-2007 10:59 PM

Thanx a lot for your gracious and kindly compliments. I still have a lot to learn.

The work on the comic book industry gave me the "precision" you just tell. As a matter of fact, im trying to make everything more loose and natural, opposed to that precise, exact, hatched lines from the fine comic book artwork, to achieve something completelly different from that. I think we all should find new horizons and possibilities.

Anyway, i really appreciate your comments, and i do feel i will make loads of friends around here.

I just saw that Cris Saper posts on this forum. I was absolutly surprised, since I do have a copy of one of hers books with me, and this one really helped me out. This place is great.

Thanx again Alex!

Thank you very, very much Julie, i really appreciate that!

By the way, i loved that draw you did from the old lady with the white hat. Spectacular. Is that charcoal? Amazing!

Alexandra:

I loved the drapery you do on your portraits. Very, very nice.
Edna Andrade is my favorite one. I loved her pose and the natural light.
Is she Brazilian? This surname is typically Brazilian.

Great work!

Welcome to the forum, Alex,
I like your self portrait and I am certain that you will find what you are looking fore, here.

Julie Deane 01-28-2007 09:42 AM

Thanks for the compliment, Alex. It's pencil with a charcoal background.

Alex Sunder 01-28-2007 09:55 AM

Thanks Allan!

Your portraits are also incredible. My favorite is Egon. Beautiful light.

See you around in the forum.

Wonderful self portrait Alex. The style reminds me of a pen and ink drawing. Will very much enjoy seeing more of your work here - thanks for joining.
