Where can I buy a Folding Wood Palette?

Hi-
i'd like to know if anyone could steer me towards someone that sells folding palettes like the type used in a 1/2 size french outdoor easel/paintbox. Years ago, a freind got me one from the Sennelier store in Paris, but I don't want to use it because 1. It's dark wood and 2. I don't know how to replace it. (photo 1)

I'm also looking for a TRUE size 12 X 16 wood palette for my full size paintbox. The "12 X 16" kind that is available is not 12 X 16, but measures 15 1/2 X 11 1/2, and doesn't fit snugly in the box, or slots.
I currently use a plastic sheet as a substitute, but would rather have a piece of wood with the thumb hole. (photo 2)

This is all for oil painting outdoors.

Thanks!
Raymond Smith

I don't have a source, Raymond, but it seems to me that one could saw an existing palette in half and then add hinges?
For a true 12 x 16, how about buying a palette the next size up and then get it chopped down to the size you want? That ought to be an easy thing if you or a friend has a table saw.
