thank you for your comment I do the live session with just a brush, with this model it was just a single session so I took a photo of him and then at the very end of the session I use a pencil, drawing right into the wet oil to reestablish the major features I let all this dry and then after oiling the painting with a light layer of linseed oil and letting it dry completely finish the painting at home using the photo.
