The Cass Project
I recently had the opportunity to take some photos of my friend Cass. She was a good model, easily directed and not self conscious. These are a few of the results.
In the first image, at our bottom left, I think I would accentuate the small amount of light on her shirt to try and seperate her shirt from the chair back under her arm. I think this would make it a stronger image. Also, I think I would play up slightly the stripes of light on her left arm made by the light coming through the wicker.
I like the swept back hair style but I wish we could have had it a little more tidy in the back. A bun arrangement would have been nice. As fixes go this one would be pretty easy.
In the first three three images she was backed up to a wall with a window on her right and a door light on her left. These lights were not facing her, but on the same plane as the wall. The door light was obviously the dominant light. In the last image she was lit by door light on her right which was facing her right side directly.
I used my gray card to set the white balance.
