The love of sport

This is a client of mine who truly enjoys his dogs and their work together quail hunting. 24X30 oil. He was wonderful in trusting me to interpret his request for a hunting portrait. I think the composition relationship with the sport of hunting speaks of this gentlemans' nobility, loyalty, and passion without being any less masculine than a 'conventional' approach. And although his face is not pronounced, I think the expression stance and gesture let you get to know him quite well. I hope you guys like it!
