There is so much delicateness and sensitivity in this drawing...it is as if the charcoal stick (or pencil) slowly went over the contours and planes of the head and transmitted its experience to the viewer so eloquently.
Your choice of lighting and the way you handled it is masterful.
Beautiful drawing, again!

Christy, Carlos and Marina, thank-you very much for your kind comments. It was charcoal and it is about what I really like best about figure drawing - the subtleties of contour and the beauty of form. It has so informed my current painting too. I can see so much more clearly, and am much loser and adventurous that previously in my painting (or so I feel). I would really like to do a drawing, then a painting, then a drawing again, and so on, because it really helps move you onwards and out of ruts.
Sharon Knettell was right about draw, draw, draw before you paint. She has a lot of sensible and intelligent knowledge.

Great drawings!...There isn't any change of sensibility from the paintings to the drawings, the mind behind them is still the same. There's a delicate, smoky atmosphere that directly echoes the oils.
Thanks for showing them--TE
