Hi,
This was done in the figure and portrait group I go to in Winston-Salem, NC. 3 hours, oil.

Oh, my.
Cecelia, what a very beautiful and successful piece. I love the solidity of the head and the subtlety you have shown in the skin tones.
Please post more of your open studio work!
PS Is that Senso canvas I see? What is the size and ground?

Thank you, Chris! It's 12 x 16, Claessens 13 DP. The tone is what's left of a previous session clunker after I wiped it out.

Beautiful work, Cecelia. Straightforward, yet very elegant in its simplicity. I also would like to see more work from your open studios.

Cecelia, this is SUCH fine work! I love how you caught the tilt of her head and the nuance in her expression. I feel there's something I can't quite figure out about her. Thanks for posting this.

Thank you all for your comments. Coming from artists of your caliber, I'm very gratified. I'll post more soon (still figuring out how to transfer images from old computer to new mac). Just wish they all turned out. I go almost weekly (wonderful sessions at studio of Scott Burdick and Sue Lyon who are sooo inspiring), but get lots of clunkers. I'm also getting friends and family to pose for multiple sessions in my studio and will post some of those in Portraits from Life
Cecelia Cox.
