PSA talk - Rushworth: "From Rookie to Pro"

At the 2008 PSA conference I will be giving a talk as part of the Cecilia Beaux Forum meeting, entitled "From Rookie to Pro".

I'll discuss how I grew my portrait career over the course of five or six years from being an absolute rookie in this field into where it is now, having achieved a measure of success. (Five official Governors commissions, various CEO commissions, top agency representation, an eighteen month waiting list, and an eight-fold price increase over that time.)

I have by no means "made it" in this business, though, and my career is still very much a work in progress. I have so much more to learn. However, I have learned a tremendous amount over those years and I thought other people just getting started might want to hear what I did that worked, and what didn

Great news!

Will you publish the talk on your website? 'Cause, you know, I think that many of us would enjoy listenig to you, but won't be able to attend the conference.

Michele, you might also add to your list of impressive achievements that you did all this operating from a section of the country where portraiture is fairly uncommon. You have so much drive and tenacity, and I can't wait to hear your lecture.
