Hello everyone!

I have just joined your forum and want to introduce myself. I have been a lurker for several years and am really excited about being part of your forum. I have learned so much and really enjoyed the incredibly high quality discussion and sharing that goes on here.

I am a mostly figurative painter who aspires to do commission portraits. But I live and show in Maine, a state known for landscapes and seascapes, and hardly know how to approach commission portraiture. I really appreciate the company of and chance to learn from of others in the field. Here is one example of my work. This is a painting of a friend of mine who has a booth at our local outdoor farmers market. My apologies for it being a bit blurry.

Hi Mary,
welcome to the forum. Your painting has a nice outdoor feel with the light envelouping the man.

I look forward to see more of your works.

Thank you Allan and Julie. I am really looking forward to many informative and enlightening exchanges.

I also do some equestrian work as well and am posting an example.
