Enzie, Thomasin, Terri, Michele : thank you!

Enzie, Yes you formulate it correctly. The idea for the beginning of this self portrait was to have the gaze in the shadow, I always was fascinated by some portraits where you can almost not see the eyes. And when I was developing this idea, it came to my mind that it would be a good idea to have different levels of reality from the underpainting to the trompe-l'oeil...

Thomasin, yes i'm beginning to have fun with light and shadows, there are so many things you can explore only with one human being and a light. But I think I'm not the only one, if I remember well, don't you have fun even shopping bulbs?

Michele: Ha! You are the first to make such a compliment to my portrait of " Mr D". I think he was a bit eclipsed by the baby portraits which are more unusual to see. I'm supposed to make a painting with this but didn't have time yet. It's the first portrait I made from my husband: He's so proud now, you just made a new friend!
