Painting knife

I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good painting knife. I was painting on Saturday and my knife broke on me right where the stem met the blade. It was a Utrecht brand and the stem was welded to the blade.
I am looking for a painting knife where the stem and blade are made out of the same piece of metal also I would like the knife to be very flexible and strong. I have checked Daniel Smith, jerrysartarama.com, aswexpress.com and Dick Blick. There seemed to be very little variety although Dick Blick offers there brand which are about $5 plus Holbein which are about $35. I am not against spending $35 or more on a painting knife but I want to know that offers the qualities I am looking for.

Aaron, I used to break a knife about every three months so I started looking for one like you described. I've been using the same ones now for over a year. They're made by Loew-Cornell, and I think I bought them at Blicks. I guess I'm tough on knives so these must be pretty good.

Thanks Debra. I actually bought a Holbein knife last week i have not received it yet but for $35 I hope its good. I will give an update after I use it for a while.
