David Carroll Juried Member S.N.O.B. Joined: Nov 2005 Location: Sedona, AZ Posts: 61	I believe Carlson used copal varnish as his retouch. He also used it as a medium mixed with turps and sometimes added stand oil. It's been a while since I last read his wonderful guide to landscape painting. Great book though.
