Sharon -

In a twisted sort of way, I'm relieved to hear that artists I admire, like you, have slumps and feel depressed comparing themselves to other artists. Gives me hope!

Right now, I am doing a still life to integrate what I am learning, hoping for an artistic breakthrough down the road.

Sharon,
Another possibility is that the issue is the painting and not the painter. i have a painting like that. It has been turned to the wall for more than 2 years. It is a complex three figure piece with intricate detail. It is fully blocked in, but every time I re-look at it, i cannot summon the energy to complete it. I know it is going to be exhausting and I am do not feel emotionally ready to tackle the commitment at this time. Could it be time to turn your painting to the wall for a while and work on another painting?

Aw, shucks, I only picked the ones I could easily reach, due to slothfulness.

The only wines I might hide from guests would be a good Alsatian Gerwertztraminer, certain New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs, and of course any Champagne.

Carlos, remember that all of us would love an invitation to Spain!
