Thanks Michele! The clients saw this in person and approved today, so I'll finally be able to sign it. Whew!

Terri, sorry I didn't reply sooner. I like this very much. You have captured such an innocent and intimate expression, one I bet her parents just love. Like many others, I also appreciate the softness of your painting style.

In addition to loving your painting style, I love the expressions you capture. Each time one of your paintings come up for viewing one word pops into my head..... "perfect!"

Lisa, Thanks! Finding an expression that is natural is something I really work hard at. One of the little tricks that works really well for me sometimes at the beginning of a shoot is asking them to set in front of the camera while I 'adjust the settings' Of course, there's always talking with them to distract them, and something else that helps to get a variety of 'looks' to choose from is playing mirror with them, I'll ask them to move their head like I move mine, then turn/tilt my head at different angles. Most kids find this amusing and they're concentrating on what I'm doing, not getting their picture taken, so the expressions are more natural. (not sure if this'd work with adults! )
Thanks Janel - I only wish!
