Isabel,
This turned out beautifully! Not only is the figure drawn with incredible sureness and confidence, you have made her come alive in the expression and nuances of her face. The pose and composition support the title well. This drawing makes me think, and feel.

Isabel,
This is splendid!
I could not tell from the earlier photos; was the paper colored as it is in this last post or did you add the color to her face and hair after she was fully drawn? If so, how did you so beautifully keep the color so clean?
What wonderful sensitivity you have in the tip of your pencil!

Big thank you to everyone!!! I wish I could participate more on the forum but school's eating up too much of my time.
Linda and Chris - Thank you so much!
Geary - How nice to see you here, buddy! Thank you!
Allan and Enzie - Thanks a lot for the kind words! Adding colors on the bracelet was quite an experiment. Initially I'd only planned for the color background - falling leaves but decided that I'd also need to improve the harmony between color BG and the black and white figure. I wanted some kind of connection between the two. At first the green was too bright, I used an eraser to reduce the color and added a bit of graphite shading on top, hoping it doesn't become a distraction to the overall composition.
Alex - Thank You! you're always so encouraging! I had a hard time with the background. Not the application but the color scheme. I was tempted to add more detail and tone to the leaves but decided not to. Afraid that it might become a distraction.Unconciously,I always have this realism urge, wanting to make things more realistic. Quite ironically this is something I must fight when I'm doing this type of drawing. So I have to plan out the execution beforehand (ie. where to fade, when to use bolder strokes, etc). For me, it is quite a challenge and I'm always struggling. My idea of adding color was not to bring "focus" to a particular part but to find a balance between color and graphite. When I first finished it I wasn't quite sure whether I like the result or not.
Brenda - This is drawn on cream color paper. The gradient effect you see in the photo is caused by the lighting.Didn't know how to correct it but it doesn't bother me that much now. Actually I like it quite a bit. Indeed I added all the background and bracelet colors after the main figure's done. The trick was workable fixative, I used a lot.
Claudemir - Thank you but I'm starting to get sick of her face now. Time to move on

Isabel, this is an amazing drawing. Pro all the way. I love this model, there's no reason to stop. Exceptional work, as always!
And by the way, I love your attitude - having to finish the drawing first before tackling other subjects. Your priorities are just right. I wish my students were more like you!!
