Atelier list?

Has anyone heard of an atelier on the west coast of Florida? Ringling School of Art is down the street, but I'm looking for something more method-oriented.

Thanks in advance.

No one responded to this question, which wasn't a big surprise -- the style of education (atelier) I'm looking for is geographically clumped: New York, California, Florence and Minneapolis.

I did, however, find a great website, www.classicalrealism.com.

In particular, the site sells some inexpensive books aimed at this "traditional" style of realism:

"On the Training of Painters," by Richard Lack
"Twilight of Painting"
"Painting the Visual Impression," by Richard Whitney.

The site also links to a GORGEOUS gallery, the Gandy Gallery.

Mari DeRuntz,

Look up the name Allan Banks. He is on your side and a member of the American Society of Classical Realism.

These painters are mostly off-shoots of Ives Gammell, out of Boston. As is the young lady Catherine Ingleby (the next topic in this forum). Good luck, and I hope you get through.
