Then there are those of us who have no real life outside of cyberspace, as indicated by the high numbers under our names at the left. They indicate how many times they have ever posted on SOG. I think I'm still in the lead on that one -- a highly dubious honor!

Garth,
You are a charming and elegant man.
Still, I hope never to get to the five digit club.
Love, Chris

Belated congratulations:
Congratulaions also to Dianne Gardner and Mikael Melbye for becoming the seventh and eighth folks to surpass 1,000 hits with their ever popular new member introductions this past week, or so. May I add a belated welcome to you both as well.
Perhaps we need to aim for a new target of 3,000 or so hits. No one is near there yet!
Garth

Yikes, even this thread has reached four digits!
In an ironic twist, and just in time for Christmas, I found this thread at 1001 views this morning, and so I'm acknowledging that for some absurdly wondrous reason this thread has become more popular than it was ever imagined to become. This thread was merely intended to congratulate individual members whose introductions reached the milestone of 1000 hits or more, but not to be found in a self congratulatory position!
But the good news is this reflects that more people are reading and contributing to member introductions, and quite a number of new members have effectively introduced themselves and reached a respectable level of visibility here, in a relatively short period of time. This forum section is expanding at an healthy pace, as evidenced by all the increases in hits.
Okay, Karen McPherson, you are just on the cusp of clocking in at number ten (of those who have reached 1000), at 997 views this morning. Congratulations!
Keep introducing yourselves. Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, a Happy New Year, and a healthy, prosperous and productive year of great portraiture and art in 2006!
Garth
