Just spotted this, Kim. I like this new direction you're taking, the coloring outside the lines feel. Beautiful brushwork, too.

This is great Kim, I dig the work you've been doing recently with that feeling of intimacy. Sa-weet.

I'm with Sharon, as I read the color swashes as leaves, too. And I guess that's not a bad thing, since it works as such.
It feels like we're peeking through a break in the trees at this lovely woman; an Autumnal sylvan mood, I guess. Except that sounds pretentious, while your painting isn't. It's quiet and soft and well done.

Thanks Linda, Jimmie & Rob. I actually thought I had ruined it when I woke up the next day after adding the extreme colors. She has grown on me though....and I'll keep her as is.

Hi Kim--
Glad this got churned back up in the new posts list.... I really like this too... though clearly the orange is not painted as leaves... somehow I had the same reaction, it feels as though we are seeing her through autumn branches perhaps it is the suggestion of blue (like sky) in the background? Anyway... I really like the contrasts and how she is so delicately portrayed.
