I've been told that you can approach a painting in one of two ways, either through value or color - colorist or tonalist. Given that I would have to place myself in the tonalist camp. In the case of this painting however I absolutely love the color. The red hair against the green gold of the scarf is wonderful. By the way, I can't fault the values either. Well done.
