This oil was done in 2- 2 hour demos during a recent workshop. It's about 14X11, oil on panel. My model is a very interesting guy. We all bought his flute music CD and he sang for us.

Here's the model and painting right after we finished the piece.

I like it very much Tim!

I wish you could post an MP3 of his music.

Tim,

I like this very much, also. I enjoy the color scheme and the nice, subtle temperature shifts. Great edge work, too.

Sometimes it seems that great subjects paint themselves Tim. Your affection for this man shows in your work. Would like to have been there to listen, I often play Native American flute music while I paint.

Jean, it was a spirtual experience.

He's a lovely guy and very gifted, yet extremely modest and open. I'm looking forward to next year's class out there. They are letting me do a masterclass the same week as Billy Collins. We're going to paint the lovely local Pueblo tribe members...maybe girls in costume?

I envy you Tim, that sounds like a wonderful time. There is a great deal of Native American culture around here too. I grew up surrounded by it. I admire the culture, stories, music, clothing, but find the faces to be the most striking. Oh, and I also like the portrait!
