Portrait of Guido

This is a posthumus oil portrait of my uncle Guido. I had to work from a black and white photo. The painting is life size. Thanks for this opportunity to unveil it.

What a beautiful portrait. I would love to see a more close up view. Your uncle lives on!

Wonderful execution. Your family is fortunate to have such a talent. When you say life size... what were the dimensions?

thumbs up

Thanks so much for all the encouraging words. They really mean a heck of a lot to me! Sorry, Mike, for not getting back to you sooner, the linen size is 38" X 30".

Best regards,
Steve

O.K. now, back to that nose!

May I join the chorus of praise for this loving tribute? Just when I see myself leaning toward the "Premier Coup" style of painting, this "invisible brush" beauty appears. I am reminded that a painter can take realism beyond reality to create an icon. The fact that this was done from a black and white photo is practically unbelievable! You must have known this special man very well.

Thank you for sharing.
