Tom,
Thanks for that! It is not as rich in color as the one I did in Chris' workshop last month but I think it is because I used raw umber and did a complete value study wash in (like Marvin teaches) and then I applied the colors over that adhering to values more than color. The goal is to be able to layer with scumbles and reach richness and luminosity. Next time should be even better!

Here's a picture of Val in action. Right behind Val is Patty. I've also posted her painting of Moria which might give you a better idea of it's richness.

By the way, if you ever get a chance to meet Val and you wonder why she's so shy and inhibited, it probably means that aliens are inhabiting her body. Just sayin' !
