Another head study

I just finished working on the 16 by 12 study of my daughter Claire. I need to let it sit so that I can come back to see it with a fresh eye. I'm trying to see my own work better. In the meantime, please take a look and help me out. Thanks
Amy

Hi Amy! How ya doin!

Excellent work - congratulations.

There are only two things I'd change

- the highlight for the tip of the nose is up just a bit too high.

- the lower eyelid on the left (her right) looks a bit straight. It seems the other eye is larger than in the photo, but I wouldn't change it - it looks great, and is beautifully painted.

Oh one last thing - the hair that is front of the ear is more of a flat shape than the pointed that you have - but this is minor and I didn't notice before I looked at the photo.

Terrific job Amy!

Hi Amy,

This is a beautiful study of your daughter. I like the distinct planes of color, and the range of color you gave her face, that doesn't exist in the photo.

Thanks for the nice words everyone! I appreciate the boost of confidence. Holly, I can't help myself when it comes to color, I love it. My problem always seems to be working with proper values. This is something I have been trying to work on. Linda, I have to say, as a fellow Minnesota type person I am encouraged by your work and your success around here! You just keep getting better! Keep it up. I will go back in and change some of those things you mentioned and take another good look myself.
Thanks again everyone, I'm hoping to have more time to contribute here.
Amy

This is gorgeous, Amy, I love those fluid strokes! Great paint handling.

If this were me I wouldn't lose the whole top and back of the head into the dark background, I'd lose just some of it, and do a color change instead of a value change.
