Just finished this one, and I am having a horrible time getting a picture that I think looks like the real thing. All of the little details just seem to disappear. But anyway, the reception I got from the mother and father was tears, so at least I know they were pleased.

Hello Mary,

Congratulations on getting the tears from the parents. That is a whew, good feeling.

I have a question for you though, I hope I don't sound stupid, but is this an oil?

Congratulations, Mary! I love warm backgrounds, and I like how you've handled the white fabric folds here.

Did you follow Mike's photography advice in your photo shoot here?

Beautiful Mary,

I love the colors in the dress, you did a great job with it.

Thank you all.
Janel, it is oil.
Linda, of course I "tried" to follow Mike's rules. Now I just need to figure out how to get a decent image of it. I cringed when I opened this thread and saw it, everything looks compressed and muddled.

Mary,

This is, I think your best so far, both painting and composition-wise. Well done!
