Athena

Athena, 12" x 12", oil on linen.

Athena is a part demo, part unveiling...I painted this in conjunction with my class , half of whom also painted her.

The exercise here was to paint and photograph the model under tungsten light conditions. I let just a small amount of blue sky come in from the upper left, which made for a wonderful temperature exercise.

Lovely painting, Chris. The skin tones are beautiful. Great lighting, also.

Athena also modeled for us during the Leslie DeMille workshop, and I can attest to your capturing her likeness dead on.

Sincerely,

Hi Chris,

This is why I consider you the master of color. I also really like the grain of the linen showing through. It seems to enhance her image.
