Greetings
My name is Patrick Taylor from Las Vegas, Nevada. I am new to the art forum and may I first start out by expressing my deep admiration to all of the artist's who contribute their knowlege, advise and love for art in this forum. Your works are very inspiring, your words are priceless. Thank you!!
This portrait of princess Diana is my first step out into the world of portraiture. At first I thought I bit off more than I could chew but it turned into quite a learning experience. I've been told by my grandmother that we have Welch royalty in our blood, I felt a closeness to the Princess and this is my contribution to her incredible life. May her spirit and what she stood for live on in our hearts and minds.

Unquestionably a "royal" treatment of the subject, Patrick. The choice of colour and the controlled use of hard and soft detail to keep the figure clearly in focal interest in the midst of the more diffuse background is very sophisticated technique. You've come amazingly far since your unexpected career change. Hope to see more of your work here.
(I have an unaccountable affection for Diana, too, even though my ancestors hail from that renegade isle to the west.)

This portrait of the Princess nicely portrays all of her regal dignity. I especially like your background treatment as it sets the mood and enhances the figure.
Bravo!
