Jeff and John, thanks.

This was done as a "live" demo. Actually it was a ton of fun and really made it easier for people to approach me, plus, see what goes into painting from life.

When we first started we painted on a Saturday from 10 am - 1pm. Then we switched to Sundays, the light actually was different just because of this. Just working one day each weekend lead to the other usual challenges like a new hair cut etc.

Unfortunately John, the "wash-in" of the 2000 would only include a cup of Starbucks coffee. But, since so many of the same people came in every weekend, I've decided it must be just as addictive as the old days.

I've included a JPEG of Marvin using his wash-in technique in his NC workshop. As he says "some people call it a 'wipe-off'". It is a great way of drawing, establishing your values and getting the compostition right before you go to color. It reminded me of an "echa-sketch"(?), and is a great way for me to really check my drawing proportions.
