Have a laugh on me!

Michele,

In the next portrait you do you'll find it much easier to pick one photo to go with for the whole face.
You're right about this, as you were about the other points. Here was my trouble: This reference came from the third photo-shoot, and they were unwilling to go for a fourth. I can't blame them, so I used reference I had in hand to brace up the sagging portion of the smile. You could call it an attempt at artistic engineering.

Let this be a lesson to me, and all other over-confident beginners - don't do what the masters refuse to attempt.

Please feel free to have a good hoot at my expense.

This was done in watercolor, wasn't it?
Yes, it was. I learned much about this reading articles by Paul McCormack, who is a very accomplished watercolor portrait artist, and a member of SOG. His work can be seen here. Thanks to William Whitaker for pointing me to Paul's work.

Great job!

Will,

This has come a long way from the initial "Couples" post. This should be an inspiration to those Forum members whom we urge to "Do it over!"

Watercolor? Amazing!

Sincerely,

Great job Will

This is a far cry from your first self portrait! I especially like the whites in her blouse and his shirt. When are you going to do some oil?

Jean
