Top-shelf Landscape Videos
For those of you who occasionally venture into landscapes in between portrait commissions, or who find yourselves incorporating landscape into portraiture, I cannot recommend too highly a new video from Colorado artist Jay Moore, entitled

Neither Moore nor Christensen are adamant about the palette. Each states that he arrived at the current choices after long experience.
Moore says that he was well served in art school by using only three primaries and black and white. However, he has expanded his palette, using

Thanks for these recommendations, Steven.
Now if only I could get Santa to also bring me more time and energy to paint all the landscapes I would like to do, I'd be ready to roll!

I haven't posted here in a while, but I wanted to second the opinion on Jay Moore's video being excellent.
I have actually taken a landscape painting workshop from him, and learned more in two days of that workshop than I have in any other art class I've ever taken. He's very analytical about his painting process, and willing to share information about painting and business that most artists keep to themselves. If you like to paint landscapes, taking a workshop from him is definitely worth the $$ - he teaches a great 4 day workshop in Rocky Mountain National Park in June every year through the Loveland Academy of Art:
