Megan

This was done mostly from life, in an open studio session. I did take a photo and added a few darks to the hair from the photo and defined the eyes and mouth a little more. I wish I'd used thicker paint on the sweater.
Critique welcome.

Beautiful, Cecelia! That kind of flat lighting is very hard to cope with but you certainly did well with it! When I'm in an open studio session I always try to move to a spot where there is at least some shadow pattern, but sometimes it isn't possible--or maybe it's a day for a challenge. Anyway, you were very successful with this.

Thanks Alexandra and Linda. I agree, it is easier to get the form when you have a shadow pattern! I was late that day and couldn't get my usual spot, but it gave me a chance to try something a little different. Good practice as that is a flattering light- but definitely more tricky. They don't always turn out for me.

Hi Cecelia, Nice Work. I like the way that the sweater looks--good color selection and not distracting.
