Another step

Two weeks ago I attended an opening of a gallery I have admired here in Rocky River, Ohio. The opening was after they had added more square footage and "nipped and tucked" their space. I went alone (yikes!). I mingled, I passed out my cards, I introduced myself to the partners and I left without spilling wine on myself or anyone else...it was a great evening. Oh, yeah, did I mention I had already sent them images of my work and an application to be represented by the gallery?

This week I was accepted into the Silverthorne Gallery. Today I took some of my work for display, but just before I left my studio the phone rang. It was a woman who had stopped into the gallery asking for the name of a portrait artist, they gave her mine, and I have an appointment with her next Thursday. Three daughters...

Another step in realizing this dream to create and make a living doing it!

Thanks

...for sharing my joy Thomasin and David. Thomasin I love your piece which won acclaim. And David you knew me back when I was eating up everyone's time looking for critiques. Sometimes it is good for us to look back and see how far we have come when at time it feels we are moving at a snail's pace, counting beans instead of culling our craft.

Julie, Julie, my dear friend. You can't imagine how much I missed you that evening I ventured alone! Thanks for your generous compliment, it means the world to me.
